bimbling in web tech space
whilst bimbling round wikipedia I was looking at twitter that i recently joined because I knew someone other than [info]the_borderer who actually used. This lead me to pownce, i also found out about Xing which is a European competitor to linkedin which I thought about joining because of other stuff. Anyhew pownce looks rather cool since its supports file sharing. In its about section its listed its tie in with XFN which itself is a microformat and looks like a nice relationship mech that would be good to have implemented everywhere. So I just went across to mychores to see if they are linked into any of this stuff, it would seem logical if they were, where I have just found about Gravatar which is rather like openid and I just added an rss feed of the mychores blog

its amazing when your away for a bit the web evolves along at frightening pace it even has conferences (which was in London and i missed). I just found out about a us competitor for mychores called rememberthemilk, obviously I want MYCHORES to win and win BIG!

Awww, thanks Kate, that's nice of you, and thanks for pointing me to this post! :)

I don't see RememberTheMilk as competition, just an alternative. I don't think they copied MyChores at all, and i didn't copy them (although, now i think on it, i got the idea for iCalendar integration from them!)

They have a really nice interface and i think they've a bit of money to throw at it. They pay for GoogleAds (which sometimes appear on MyChores) and they get a lot of publicity. Plus they can provide a text message service and IM integration.

I am planning a lot more RSS feeds to come out of MyChores, plus some sort of Facebook integration is a definite possibility. I already have Twitter integration for those who want to use it. I can't think of any use for Pownce/LinkedIn but something might come to me.

OpenID and Gravatar are my favourite technologies of the moment!

XFN is a great idea and everyone should use it. But it's more about personal relationships which is not where i want MyChores going. However, i use it on my own blog (under 'Finding Me') and i set up a FoaF link as well!

Technology is wonderful! :D

Ooops i think my comment is longer than your post!!!
